Facebook Seems To Have An Issue With Women's Sport As They Repeatedly Block Posts Being Published.
I am extremely proud to manage the official Facebook page for The FA Women's Premier League, posting fixtures/results, and sharing stories. I love football and the women's game. I want to see more women's football on TV and in the mainstream media, attracting the credit it deserves. Since late 2016, Facebook has seen fit to block me from using it on at least six occasions including, right now as I type this. The message claims I'm "misusing this feature by going too fast". At first, I thought this was just a bug but, It is happening with increasing frequency. Facebook never say's how long these "temporary blocks" are planned to last. Facebook never reply's or attempts to contact me at all. I can't let you know their side of the story since they seem to have gagged themselves. I have asked a number of questions and, had each one ignored.
I am left to speculate on how and why this is happening when it has only ever happened why attempting to post FA WPL results. Is Facebook sexist? Mark Zuckerberg's website has been under fire for it's handling of abusive content and not doing enough about reports of certain content. The fact that this only happens on The FA Women's Premier League page raises suspicions that it could be deliberate. I might be paranoid but, I believe there has to be a reason that it only happens on The FA Women's Premier League page and never on any of my other pages or even my personal account. So, is Facebook deliberately trying to censor women's football like The FA did for 50 years?
It's been two hours so far, since Facebook imposed this latest temporary block and it still hasn't been lifted. I have referred to this as a mistake in the past but, I don't think it's unintentional anymore. Since Facebook don't list any contact phone numbers or email addresses, this is my only outlet.
Ask yourself, is Facebook sexist?
