Scottish FA Praises The Kim Little Show In
Scotland's Euro2017 Qualifier, But Stand Firm On No Team GB Squad.
The Scottish FA praised Kim Little for her hat-trick in Scotland's 3-0 win
against Slovenia in their first Euro 2017 qualifier. The Seattle Reign midfielder was the best player on the pitch in the Ajdovšcina Stadion, and would be an almost definite in a GB squad. There are a few non-English Brits that could be selected in a GB squad. The SFA are the chief obstructors to a GB football team in the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Scottish, Welsh, and Northern Irish players should be putting pressure on their representative Associations, if they want to compete in an international competition. There is talent from all of the home nations, and each one deserves an opportunity to represent their (and our)
country on the world stage.
There is proven evidence that players competing in the Olympic competition can enhance the players' club and international careers.
It seems so cruel that the SFA can praise their players' performances, yet deny them opportunities to play. It's clear that they are, as the phrase goes, cutting off their nose to spite their face. Scotland has not featured an a major international tournament since 1989, before Kim Little was born.
Quite simply, give the players, coaches, and fans what they want. A GB Olympic football team is what we've been asking for.
