Only one fixture in the Combination leagues took place yesterday.
Middlesbrough hosted Chorley in a top half battle in the final fixture of 2013 in the Northern League. Middlesbrough had been on a nine game unbeaten run before last week's away defeat to league leaders Mossley Hill after a disappointing performance from the in-form Teessiders. Chorley had suffered two straight defeats at home to Huddersfield Town before a postponement so, had not played last week. Two top sides showing a slight blip in form. It was an entertaining match with good football from both sides. The game had drama, pace, passion and goals, a sending off and awful weather. the final result was 3-2 in favour of the less fancied Boro.
